Sunday March 16-Calgary

Today Katsu and I spent the time at a shopping mall in Calgary because Sami-san Rina-san had an appointment. The shopping mall is so big but it has no different from Japanese one. Because today was Sunday, I saw families, and sometimes heard some speaking voices in Japanese.

We were picked up about 4 o’clock. We went back the house in Calgary to pick up our luggage and Elmo, their dog. Because it had already got dark last Friday, I didn’t notice that the straight road continued and most roadside lands were farm one on our way to Lethbridge. Sami-san and Rina-san treated us in a Pizza Hut. It was Sunday but the restaurant was very thinly attended.

I came back my host house around 9 o’clock and went to bed soon because I was so tired.

Thank you for taking us for sightseeing, Sami-san and Rina-san.

I want to go to Banff again in summer.

My host parents took me to Calgary last night. My host parents took me to the Banf National Park with their children, Alex and Rozee, her fiancee Alexander and Toshi.

The scenery of the Rockey Mountains, frozen water falls and the beautiful town of Banff are magnificent.Sami-san, Alex, Tishi and I went up to the top of a mountain by gondola. All were wonder beautiful, indeed.

I took  lots of pictures this time.
As I uploaded many, I hope you will enjoy them.

Friday March 14-Sightseeing

Sami-san and Rina-san who are Katsu’s host family are going to take Katsu and me a sightseeing to Banff this Saturday. Because they have a house in Calgary, we are going to stay there tonight and tomorrow night.

We arrived at Katsu’s host house about 5 o’clock and spent the time playing table tennis until supper time. Sami-san came home after 7 o’clock and we left the house after 8 o’clock. We took Elmo, their dog with us. He is old therefore they didn’t want to leave him by himself. We arrived at their Calgary house about 11 o’clock. Sami and Rina’s children Alex and Rozee, with Razzes’ fiancé, Alexander were waiting for us.

Thursday, March 13- Joyful time Listening to The Piano

It was very warm today. The tempeature reached 13 degrees Celsius. But it was windy.

I took  pictures with my friends of Lethbridge College. Please have a look.

A musician and his girlfriend visited my host home in the evening. She is so attractively beautiful that my eyes are pinned up on her. Of couse he is very very handsome too.

After the dinner we had a joyful time listning to the his piano, playing ping-pong and so on .

I wish I could play the piano.

Next turn is Toshi.

Wednesday March 12-Haru ichiban

I went shopping to the downtown with Katsu after the classes.

Although I wore lighter clothes today than in last two weeks, it was so warm as to get sweaty in the bus to the downtown. It was windy today, however. My hair felt rough, because it got covered with sandy dusts. The wind is similar to “Haru Ichiban” in Japan, that means the first strong and warm spring wind from the south that tells people spring is coming near.

When I took a walk around the neighborhood, I found a place with wonderful view. I can see a coulee spreading out before and have a great overview of the unique scenery. When I saw a wild rabbit, I tried to take a picture. It ran away unfortunately.

Tuesday March 11-Canada

As I have nothing to write in particular, I will write three things I feel in Canada.

First, The temperature swings wildly from hot to cold. For example, even though it was -25 degrees Celsius last week, it is around +10 this week. It is very difficult to keep my physical condition constant.

Second, drinking water is much more expensive here than in Japan. It costs about 200 yen for a bottle!!

Third, Canadian people are very kind. Espcially they are very kind in communication in public places.

 Canada is a wonderful country.
See you again.
Next turn is Toshi.

Monday March 10-Summer time

Since it has been warmed from last Saturday, the snow around the house has melted down. I walk the same path to the college every day but the scenery looked totally different. After the classes I was sitting by the library window and saw wild squirrel, it must have come out from hibernation because it has become warmer.

Ed-san and Suni-san treated me to a Chinese dinner. It was good but rice was different from what I am used to, it was long grain and not sticky like Japanese rice, it was difficult to eat. We ordered four dishes but each dish was so big that it was way too much for the three of us.

We are on summer time since last Sunday, moving the clock one hour ahead. When we came back at 7:30, the sun was just going down and the sunset was glorious hue.画像画像

Saturday, March 8-Going snowboard

I went snowboarding to the Castle Mountain with Ed-san, Katsu, William, Wataru, Kai, Jun, Iku and Nana-san. Nana-san is a friend of Ed-san and Suni-san. Ed-san and Nana-san drove their cars. Although he reached his 68th birthday in recent days, he skied. Because he often takes us for a drive, I cannot believe he is 68 years old.

As there are many ski resorts around Towada, I sometimes go snowboarding.

The temperature had been about -20 degrees Celsius almost every day till yesterday, but it jumped up today to +5. As the temperature was much more comfortable than yesterday, I got sweaty even with a slight exercise.

The landscape of the ski resort was great. I want to visit various places so that I can have many experiences.

Friday, March 7-My College Life

My college life gets more and more fun.

I made a lot of friends only in a week since I had begun to attend the ESL course of this college. They are from Nepal, India, Sudan, China, South Korea and Jordan. A friend from Korea republic is easy to speak to, because his English pronunciation is very similar to Japanese-style English pronunciation. Our relationship is very good.

As I go snowboarding tomorrow, I made the preparation today. I borrowed a snowboard and a pair of boots.

I look forward to tomorrow.
